A production run of Espresso Tampers. They are for tamping down espresso pucks (you can use them to tamp down drip coffee in your cone or basket filter as well). Their function in life is to create a mass of ground coffee of even porosity. This allows the water used for extraction to spend more time extracting the flavors of your brew. If not used , water will take the path of least resistance and will run through voids in the pellet resulting in a weak brew.
From left to right as pictured: Rosewood Burl, maple w/ a Cocobolo base, Zebrawood w/ a Cocobolo base, Paduak, Canarywood, Ebony. These range from 45 to 58 mm in diameter and all are between 2.5 and 4 inches in height.
The top part is finished in home brew poly, the bottom of the base finished with just carnauba wax.
